Welcome back to the Quote of the Week! “What if becoming the person you're meant to be requires letting go of the person you've spent a lifetime becoming?” This is one I've been wrestling with myself lately!

This week's quote comes from German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who challenges us to think about change, transformation, and the courage it sometimes takes to let go of the familiar and begin again.

“How could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?”
Friedrich Nietzsche
_________

Three questions for reflection:

  1. What beliefs, habits, or expectations have I outgrown but continue to carry?

  2. Is there something in my life I need to let go of to make room for something new?

  3. What might rise from the ashes if I had the courage to begin again?

A Side Note:

It's never too late to rise anew. Remember: At age 25, 45, 65, or 85, we can still reinvent ourselves. The ashes need not represent failure or tragedy. They can represent the remains of a chapter we've simply finished living.
