"What you are looking for is who is looking."

St. Francis of Assisi
__________

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic...

"No effort is ever wasted, although some pay dividends later than you think... Do not imagine that you 'wasted your time' because something didn't turn out right. There is no such thing as 'waste' in the Universe. Everything -- everything -- yields benefit... It's true. And your life will show you this. So don't decry the 'effort that failed.' All things lead to your highest good. You just may not know it yet".

Neale Donald Walsch

You are dazed, bewildered, trapped in a world with no time, where color collides with sound, and shadows explode. You see a sign up ahead. This is no ordinary email, this is the "Quote of the Week Zone"

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic...

Through the gateway of feeling your weakness lies your strength.
Through the gateway of feeling your pain lies your pleasure and joy.
Through the gateway of feeling your fear lies your security and safety.
Through the gateway of feeling your loneliness lies your capacity to have fullment, love and companionship.
Through the gateway of feeling your hopelessness lies true and justified hope.
Through the gateway of accepting the lacks in your childhood lies your fulfullment now.

Welcome to the Quote of the Week! You weekly email dedicated to... EMPOWERED choice, MIND EXPANDING persepective and FAITH in the future. Oneness is the theme of this week's quote!
__________

No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

From the Quote of the Week Files;

Welcome to the Quote of the Week! Your weekly spiritual snack for mind, body & soul.
__________

"You are more likely to be successful, overall, if you participate joyfully with projects and goals and do not think your life depends on achieving the mark because then you will be better able to connect to people all around you. On the whole, resources are likely to come to you in greater abundance when you are generous and inclusive and engage people in your passion for life. There aren’t any guarantees of course. When you are oriented to abundance, you care less about being in control, and you take more risks. You may give away short term profits in pursuit of a bigger dream; you may take a long view without being able to predict the outcome. In a measurement world, you set a goal and strive for it. In the universe of possibility, you set a context and let life unfold.”

Benjamin Zander & Rosamond Stone Zander (The Art of Possibilities)
__________

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic (April 14, 2003)...

"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because some day in life you will have been all of these."

George Washington Carver

__________

"Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives."

Frederick F. Flack
__________

By the Way, can you identify the time and place when your life changed significantly?

__________

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic (July 6, 2009)...

"The best year of our lives is not made up of days or weeks or months. It is made up of moments. Moments when we allow our separateness to melt away so we can be truly intimate with another; moments when we take a risk and express our love in an unexpected way; moments when we choose forgiveness over resentment; moments when we appreciate the perfection of where we are and who we are with. These are the moments that bring meaning to our lives and joy to our hearts."

"What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step. It is always the same step, but you have to take it."

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
__________

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic...

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
To allow my living to open me,
To make me less afraid,
More accessible.

To loosen my heart until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
To live so that which came to me as seed
goes on to the next as blossom
And that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic...

Community.
Somewhere, there are people
to whom we can speak with passion
without having the words catch in our throats.
Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us,
eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us
whenever we come into our own power.
Community means strength that joins our strength
to do the work that needs to be done.
Arms to hold us when we falter.
A circle of healing. A circle of friends.
Someplace where we can be free.

From the Quote of the Week Files, First Day of Summer!

Ahhhh. first day of summer..

...and to celebrate, the Quote of the Week is featuring, not only a quote, but also a poem, lyrics to a song, a question (with a link) and a request to share your top 5 summer songs!. Happy Summer Everybody!
_________

The Quote..

That beautiful season the
Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
__________

The Poem...

A something in a
summer's Day
As slow her flambeaux burn away
Which solemnizes me.

A something in a summer's noon -
A depth - an Azure - a perfume -
Transcending ecstasy.

And still within a summer's night
A something so transporting bright
I clap my hands to see -

Then veil my too inspecting face
Lets such a subtle - shimmering grace
Flutter too far for me -

The wizard fingers never rest -
The purple brook within the breast
Still chafes it narrow bed -

Still rears the East her amber Flag -
Guides still the sun along the Crag
His Caravan of Red -

So looking on - the night - the morn
Conclude the wonder gay -
And I meet, coming thro' the dews
Another summer's Day!

Emily Dickinson
__________

The Song...

In the
Summer Time

Chh chh-chh, uh, chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, chh chh-chh, uh...

In the summertime when the weather is high
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find

Welcome to the Quote of the Week; Your First Aid for Pessimism! The Reality of your life is the theme for this week's quote!
_________

“People talk about the reality of their life as if it is important. And we want you to understand, it’s only the temporary indicator. Do you go to the gas station-your gas gauge is on empty-do you go to the gas station and look at your gas gauge in horror? “How did this happen? Why, why, why did this happen to me?” Do you lay your head on the steering wheel and just sob? “Oh, look what it’s come to. I’m finished. I’ve lived all of this life, and look where I am.” Or do you just fill up.”

Happy Birthday Dad

Today, June 8th would have been my father's 87th birthday. He passed away this past September and my sisters and I were blessed to have him as our father for those many years.

Here he is with my mother around 1947 or 1948 out in Long Island. They met in Germany during World War II. She was a refugee from Estonia and he was a Lieutenant from Brooklyn, NY. They were married just a month shy of 50 years and she passed away in 1995.

We miss them both very, very much.

“Surviving a loss and letting go is only half of the story. The other half is the secret belief that we will find, in one form or another, what we have lost. And it is that potential, shimmery as a star on a clear night that helps us survive.”

Veronica Chambers

Every once in a while, someone has something that is truly meaningful, important, apropos, interesting, irreverent, or just plain funny and my job is to present them to you as the Quote of the Week.
__________

"Our time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. "
