From the Quote of the Week Files; January 26, 2015

It's Monday! Not only is it time for a FRESH start, it is also time for The Quote of the Week!
__________

"It is never too late to be what you might have been."

George Eliot
__________

A Recycled Quote of the Week Classic (from 2006)....

"Every life you touch will touch you back. Treasure every sunrise, every raindrop that hits your nose, every slobber of your dog, the feeling of sand between your toes.  Be moved by the tears of a child, and try to fix the cause. Be grease, not glue.  Breathe deep, exhale slowly, and never miss a chance to help another while on your journey here."

From the book, The Real Meaning of Life

19 January 2015

From the Quote of the Week Files; January 19, 2015

Starting the week off on a positive note can be very difficult. We know it shouldn't be, but it is. And sometimes it takes more than just a potent cup of coffee to kick our raggedy butts into gear. It may take the latest edition of THE QUOTE OF THE WEEK!
__________

“We can never give up longing and wishing while we are thoroughly alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger after them.”

George Eliot; The Mill on the Floss

Word of the Year Update...

It’s not too late!  Some of our
QoftheW members

05 January 2015

From the Quote of the Week Files; January 5, 2015

“And now let us believe in a long year that is given to us, new, untouched, full of things that have never been, full of work that has never been done, full of tasks, claims, and demands; and let us see that we learn to take it without letting fall too much of what it has to bestow upon those who demand of it necessary, serious, and great things.”

Rainer Maria Rille

One Word; One Year Exercise
Happy New Year Everybody! Now that 2014 is over it is time to “Shake it off. Just shake it off!” (according to Taylor Swift) and begin the new year with a word(s) (not a resolution) that will serve as a compass on who you want to be or how you want to live.
For 2014 my word was Synchronicity (it served me well and I will miss it) and In the past my words have been: Expand, Gratitude, Possibilities, Openness, Memento Mori, Grace and 525,600 (which represents the number of minutes we have in a year).
My 2015 Word (Mantra) for the Year is the Greek word OPA!  as it is described by Alex Pattakos (see below).  While OPA! has different meanings depending on the context that it is used, for me it will serve as a reminder to be aware and embrace the positive nature of the present moment. So to all Quote of the Week members, I say "OPA!"

What about you? What will be your word(s) that will guide you through 2014? Please Share!
