Have you forgotton your own best advice? NO PROBLEM!! Rediscover it right here with The Quote of the Week! Going Deep, Meditation and Catching Fish are the themes of this weeks' quote. Enjoy!
__________

"Ideas are like fish.

If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you've got to go deeper.

Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They're huge and abstract. And they're very beautiful.

I look for a certain kind of fish that is important to me, one that can translate to cinema. But there are all kinds of fish swimming down there. There are fish for business, fish for sports. There are fish for everything.

Everything, anything that is a thing, comes up from the deepest level. Modern physics calls that level the Unified Field. The more your consciousness-your awareness-is expanded, the deeper you go toward this source, and the bigger the fish you can catch."

A Recycled Quote of the Week

It may be hard to…
Begin over
Omit Error
Take advice
Keep out of a rut
Think first and then act
Forgive and forget
Shoulder a well-deserved blame
Be unselfish
Apologize
Keep trying…But it always pays!!!

Hello Everybody and Welcome to the Quote of the Week. Did you know that the Quote of the Week is Cruelty Free! I do not test the Quote of the Week on innocent lab animals.

This January 24th is Global Belly Laugh Day and I hope that somewhere on on that day (at 1:24 p.m.local time) a Quote of the Week member will be smiling, throwing their arms in the air and laughing out loud. Will that be you?

Check out the sight for more information... http://www.bellylaughday.com/124laughbounce.html

And now for the Quote of the Week!
__________

"Laughter is not only the best medicine. It's what keeps marriages alive, families from going insane, team mates in sync, and companies from going belly under (pun intended). Let your own Magical Impish Child come out more often and you'll be surprised at how the world looks different -- for the better."

A Thought

Where do we get the fuel to thrive and flourish?

We have -- within us -- the fuel to thrive and to flourish...

Where is this fuel within us?
We tap into it whenever we feel energized and excited by new ideas.
We tap into it whenever we feel at one with our surroundings.
We tap into it whenever we feel playful, creative, or silly.
We tap into it whenever we feel our soul stirred by the sheer beauty of existence.
We tap into it whenever we feel connected to others and loved.
In short, we tap into it whenever positive emotions resonate within us.
When positive emotions are in ample supply – we take off.
We become generative, creative, resilient,
ripe with possibility and beautifully unpredictable.

Welcome to the Quote of the Week, your Fast Relief from Dogma Slavery! Today's quote was sent in by QoftheW member Pat on making New Year's Resolutions. Have you made yours?
__________

"A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other."

Author Unknown
__________

And speaking of making New Year's Resolutions....

I can certainly relate to the above quote as every year I have trouble keeping my well intentioned resolutions. However, this year, thanks to a blog by Kristine Kane, I am going to try something different. I am choosing three words for the upcoming year that hopefully will inspire me on what I want "TO BE" as opposed to what I need "TO DO". Check out her sight and see if this might work for you...

Welcome Quote of the Week members to a brand New Year! The first quote of the new year is a poem by Elizabeth Bishop, who reminds us that the new year is a great time to think about how WE can create the reality of our own world.
__________

January First

The year's doors open
like those of language,
toward the unknown.
Last night you told me:
tomorrow
we shall have to think up signs,
sketch a landscape, fabricate a plan
on the double page
of day and paper.
Tomorrow, we shall have to invent,
once more,
the reality of this world.

At the end of each year, I ask myself two questions:
1) what do I want to create in this new year? and, perhaps even more importantly,
2) what do I want to let go of?

From the Quote of the Week Files; December ?

"There are three components of happiness...

1. Pleasure- we all know about what feels good.
2. Engagement - the depth of involvement with one's family, work, romance and hobbies.
3. Meaning - using personal strengths to serve some larger end.

Of those three roads, pleasure is the least consequential. Engagement and meaning are much more important."

"By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest."

Confucius
__________

And talk of Reflection, I just saw the first of many of many "Year in Review" shows this week and it made me think of my own "Year in Review" to see if I made any progress this year and find what areas may need attention as I move forward in 2008.

Below is a list of some questions for reflection for my "Year in Review" project. What questions do you think should be added to the list? What would your "Year in Review" look like?
__________

What occurred in my life this past year?
What were my main accomplishments and successes?
Based on what I learned last year, what am I committed to accomplishing this year and in the future?
Were there any breakthroughs?
What did I learn from my experiences last year?
What am I committed to accomplishing this year and in the future?
Who do I want thank for their support and love?
What was I excited about?
Where was I fearful?
To whom do I owe an apology?
What am I most proud of?
What am I least proud of?
What do I regret?
Do any of my relationships need special attention?
Are there things that could have been resolved that I have not allowed to be resolved?
What is still unfinished?
What is my main vision for 2008?
